We lived in Xiangtan, a small city in Hunan in south-central China from 1999 to 2002. Tim and Anne taught English at a small college. Tariqa and Taalan attended a local primary school. In our journals we have tried to document our interesting and humorous moments. We didn't come to China to be critical, rather to help break down the barriers of isolation and prejudice. We like to take pictures of common people and common places. We don't offer pictures of the Great Wall, but we have lots of pictures of the countryside in south-central China. We also have traditional landscape paintings.
